At an elderly care center in Nova Scotia, community engagement staff have introduced VR into the roster of recreational activities. Northwood is home to about 1,000 people and community building is very important. The opportunity to connect to nostalgic and new things through virtual reality is especially sought after by residents and tenants who are otherwise physically limited. One community member has even started a weekly meeting that brings members together to share some laughs, try VR, and talk about their experiences with the group.
