From the Heart of the Gran Chaco: Art and Culture of the Region
This exhibition’s main objective is to make visible the cultural and artistic productions of the indigenous peoples of the Argentine Gran Chaco, creating a space for intercultural dialogue between ancestral traditions and contemporary art.
A variety of artistic productions from the region are brought together: textiles, paintings, sculptures, and objects that highlight the cultural diversity and conversations between ancient customs and current expressions.
The works of the Misión Chaqueña painters’ collective convey the strength of an environment populated by algarroba trees, hands that weave, and colorful animals.
These paintings rescue a visual narrative of the habits and daily life of the Wichí community.

The exhibition seeks to challenge the Western notion that the popular and indigenous must remain unchanged, proposing instead a space for creation and cultural self-management that allows resistance to acculturation and renewal of the inherited repertoire according to the needs and projects of the communities involved.
From the Heart of the Gran Chaco: Art and Culture of the Region, aims to promote a space for discussion and debate, and to encourage reflection on interculturality and the role of art as a means of communication and cultural resistance.
