Otavalo, Capital of Otavalo Canton Province of Ecuador
The Otavalo canton is located in the province of Imbabura, in the northern region of Ecuador.
To the North it limits with Cotacachi and Antonio Ante. To the South with Cayambe and Pedro
Moncayo (Tabacundo). To the East with Ibarra and Cayambe and to the East with Quito and Cotacachi.
It has an area of 528 square kilometers.
There are altitude differences, from 1,100 meters above sea level, in the area of Selva Alegre,
up to 4,700 meters above sea level, on the Imbabura hill. The average temperature is 14
degrees Celsius.
The city is located 110 kilometers north of Quito, the capital of Ecuador; settled
in a wide valley, whose surface is 82.10 square kilometers, at a height of
2,565 m.a.s.l. It is surrounded by the hills Imbabura, Mojanda, Las Lomas de Yambiro
and Pucara.
El cantón Otavalo está ubicado en la provincia de Imbabura, región norte del Ecuador.
Al Norte limita con Cotacachi y Antonio Ante. Al Sur con Cayambe y Pedro
Moncayo (Tabacundo). Al Este con Ibarra y Cayambe y al Este con Quito y Cotacachi.
Tiene una superficie de 528 kilómetros cuadrados.
Hay diferencias altitudinales, desde los 1.100 m.s.n.m., en la zona de Selva Alegre,
hasta los 4.700 m.s.n.m., en el cerro Imbabura. La temperatura promedio es de 14
grados centígrados.
La ciudad está ubicada a 110 kilómetros al norte de Quito, capital del Ecuador; asentada
en un amplio valle, cuya superficie es de 82,10 kilómetros cuadrados, a una altura de
2.565 m.s.n.m. Está rodeada por los cerros Imbabura, Mojanda, Las Lomas de Yambiro
y Pucará.
